Events of SMDR
In 2011, SMDR began the reduction in our herd size with the selling of a number of our PRE horses. While it has been very sad to say goodbye to these horses, we are very happy to see that they have gone to great new homes. 2011 did see the arrival of the fillies Querida SMDR and Querencia SMDR. Jerezana SMDR was sold just before her colt, Quiosco SMDR, arrived.

We greatly reduced our Dressage showing in 2011 but showed Melena SMDR, successfully, at Training Level.
We also decided late in the show
season to campaign Decoroso SMDR at Grand Prix Musical Freestyle and
Open Grand Prix. By achieving USDF qualifying scores in their Grand
Prix Musical Freestyle, Christa Elaine Wood (our Trainer) achieved her
rider’s Gold Bar having already achieved her Gold Medal. Christa Elaine
& Decoroso SMDR capped off his showing for SMDR as the USDF Region 5
Grand Prix Musical Freestyle Champion and the Open Grand Prix Reserve

News of 2010
The big news for SMDR in 2010 was the arrival of Christa Elaine & Lucus Wood's daughter in March. Congratulations to the Woods on their precious addition to the SMDR family. With this addition, we decided to not show our P.R.E.'s in 2010. Instead we have been concentrating on getting the show horses ready for the 2011 show season. In addition, Christa Elaine has started on 3 year old fillies, Mariscala SMDR & Melena SMDR, under saddle. We've also had 3 new foals, 2 colts (Principe SMDR & Primoroso SMDR) and a filly (Princesa SMDR), in 2010.
Accomplishments in 2009
Congratulations to Christa Elaine Wood, our trainer for over 10 years, for achieving her Dressage Gold Metal on August 22, 2009 on Decoroso SMDR by receiving their 2nd 60+% score in a Gran Prix Test (61.489%). The day before Christa Elaine & Decoroso SMDR received a 65.438% in a Gran Prix test. With these 2 GP scores they have also qualified for the USDF Regional Championships.

KIOSCO SMDR finished number 23 in the nation in the USEF National Young Horse Trials for 4 year olds & qualified for the USDF Regional Championships at Open Training Level. KAZAN SMDR also qualified for USDF Regional Championships at Open Training Level. Finally, JUBILOSO SMDR, ridden by one of interns, Lindsay Harr, finished 3rd in the Rocky Mountain Dressage Society's Championships Amateur Training Level.
